Wait List Chances

So after waiting forever I am on the waitlist and UW is my number one choice. I want to go very badly and will probably give up on life if I don't. What kind of chance am I looking at on the waitlist and is there anything I can do to improve it? Would I have a better chance if I appealed?

I think i read somewhere that out of everyone waitlisted to UW last year, 3 got in.. But you should appeal if there was an error on your application. I know how hard the waiting is. Good luck

Has anyone thought of calling? I plan to tomorrow. I'll post their reply as soon as possible.

i talked to a guy from admissions yesterday. I too was waitlisted and had some questions. For one he said that from last years stats only, there was about a 30% chance i could get in (roughly 300 were admitted from the waitlist out of 1000). They're still trying to determine how many people from the waitlist they're going to admit this year based off how many people apply for housing by may first. so logically we won't hear back from UW until around june first, after they do another "holistic" review of your application. Hope this helps and good luck
