@GreatBeane I think it depends on how everything plays out. If all the spots are taken with the release of the first wave of acceptances off the waitlist, then there won’t be additional waves. They’ll continue until their class of 1600 (or 1601?) is completely filled.

Last year - the first post was at 1230PM on May 5th - It was a Sunday. Not sure they would be working on a Sunday. First wave likely on Monday around noon. The last post of someone accepted off the wait list was May 17th - so we are likely to know by mid-May.

@holycow99 thanks for the info…
man… this whole waitlist business is soo nerve racking… I was waitlisted by UC Berkely, Vanderbilt, and UMichigan. Idk… I sent in some new achievements and “showcased” my interest to Vanderbilt through some emails and stuff but iono whats actually going to happen so… we’ll have to wait and see

Does anyone know how long you have to accept after you hear you were accepted off the waitlist?

@mehh1234 How many emails did you send your officer and what did you say? Just curious thanks

Last year, the Vandy OUA posted on their blog saying that freshman and transfer waitlists had ended on July 1 so there’s always an opportunity that people are accepted even into June though I would assume most people are in the first (and largest) wave

We will be making the first round of WL decisions this afternoon is what a vandy rep said

Just got an email that I’m off of the waitlist!!! So excited for Vandy!

Just kidding. I haven’t heard any news. Guys chillll. This is an ONGOING process. The class was officially closed in August last year lol. And if you don’t get in, you’ll be looking back at this ten years from now (where you have a succesful job, house, family, dog etc.) and laughing at your callow self, who actually believed that a more prestigious school = more money. As if life was that simple.

It’ll work out.

Nevermind.
No false alarm I promise!

I GOT IN!!!

@Marioandluigi Would you mind sharing a picture of the email so we can get an idea of what it looks like? I haven’t received anything yet so it’s not looking too good for me :(

If anyone is interested in seeing it, pm ahleesuh.

BTW: Based on my income, I’m getting pretty much a full ride to Vandy. They will most likely be need blind this year.

Check my chance threads for stats/awards

@ahleesuh re: phone calls, only personal experience here. My son was called by the regional admissions counselor on May 3, 2012 to tell him he was off the wait list. He had had correspondence with her prior to that. Perhaps it depends on the level of contact.

Just got admitted off the waitlist!!! @marioandluigi, Do we have to commit within the next 72 hours, or just reply to the email within 72 hours??

@ WAAHHH

Email john.gaines@vanderbilt.edu by sunday 5 pm central time. Your portal will be updated to “admitted” within 24 hours. After that, you have 72 hours to commit/deposit. That’s what I think it means. Try to get everything done asap tho

Thanks!

Is it safe to say if you haven’t received an email yet, you’re not in the first wave?

@theanonymousguy I haven’t given up hope yet but I wouldn’t necessarily hold my breath at this point.

Anyone know if they send all the emails at once?

@WAAHHH Would you mind sharing what time you received the email at? Also, would you and @Marioandluigi mind posting on the other waitlist page with the news that you have been accepted? That might provide a better idea of who has gotten in so far and what this means for the rest of us.

Sure. The email says it was sent around 1:15 central time, but I didnt actually receive it till maybe an hour ago, at 3:15 central time.

Accepted off the waitlist. First wave is over.

Question, has anyone else received relevant financial aid information? I certainly should receive aid but it’s not listed

@GreatBeane if you responded to his email, your MyAppVU portal will be updated in the next 24 hours with your admit letter and financial aid package
