Wait list Help

Okay so I wrote up a letter to send, I have another teacher recommendation, and my guidance consoler is sending my 3rdQ grades as well as his own recommendation. The problem is I haven't sent my stuff yet and I'm wondering if it is getting too late.

My father also wants me to talk to a politician about getting a recommendation. I don't want it though because I'm a little prideful and I don't want to ask people I don't really know for help, and I also read that it can be bad if he just writes a letter from things I tell him or show him. But my dad, like other parents, wants me to get into college no matter what. Any suggestions?

I was thinking about sending my stuff first and seeing how it turns out, but eh... idk.

If the politician doesn't know you well enough to write about you on his or her own, it won't have any effect- in fact, it may be perceived as name-dropping, which is the LAST thing you want to do.

Send in whatever you can, it can't hurt. Do it now though; soon, if not already, the colleges will be getting their rejections of acceptances and looking at the wait lists.

For the letter about the wait list, should I write about my interest in the school, new activities I've participated in, or both. Right now I wrote about both and it is two pages, but my aunt thinks I shouldn't talk about the new activities and it is too long.
