Hello! I was waitlisted at The Hotchkiss School and Choate Rosemary Hall. If anybody has any experience or information regarding the earliest time these schools ever take a student off the List, please share. Thanks!

Hey :)

I was waitlisted at Groton and in the letter it says that a whole mess of schools agreed to make people accept/decline spots by April 10th, so that’s the earliest they’ll tell us anything. I don’t know if Hotchkiss is included in that “whole mess of schools” (obviously not the exact wording :)) but I would assume that it’s the 10th.

Good luck!

PS This is my 100th post! Yay I feel special! :)

Getting off the WL, if it even happens at all, could come as early as 10-apr or as late as august.

My mom told me about this one girl who was taken off the WL the day before school started, and obviously decided to go to boarding school…so that gives you a good range of a WL time frame.

The two waitlists I got, at Andover and Hothckiss, both maintained a “not notifing you until April 10” attitude; especially Andover.

However, I do know of a friend (let’s call him L) who got off the waitlist after April 10, because of L’s high scores in two high-school math contests (L was in eighth grade at the time, so beating 10-12th graders probably awed the teachers.) But, at the same time, L did not get of the waitlist at Andover, etc, so it really depends.

Good luck! :)
