Did anyone waitlisted hear from Barnard yet/

Sadly....no.
After I was waitlisted, I was told not to expect an answer before the end of the second week of May at the EARLIEST. Guess we should hear soon!!
Do you know if they even have room to accept people off the waitlist this year?

I suspect that the odds are terrible---maybe 500 waitlisted with 3-4 getting in.

great...
I just emailed an admissions officer and she told me that it is more likely that we will hear by the end of NEXT week, but they do not yet know if they can even offer admission to anyone from the waiting list (she said that last year they were able to admit 30 students)

Thats not what I heard--I heard that last year they let in 4 of 456----Anyhow, where will you go if you dont get into Barnard?

I could be wrong...thats just what an admissions officer told me (maybe she has a bad memory!).
Otherwise, I will attend NYU (CAS) next year. I'm looking to double major in Journalism and either English or History, but who knows?
Where will you be going otherwise?

Hey, you have the exact same interests as my daughter! She is going to end up at Hamilton---they are known for being strong in developing writing etc. It's a bit isolated (compared to NYC). I often work down at NYU---it is definately different then Barnard (less personal, more big city) but you can get an extremely fine education there. Keep me informed how things go---If there is a miracle and you and my daughter do get in I would love for you guys to get together and say hello!

Thanks...good luck to both of you!

I was waitlisted two years ago, and I didn't hear until the end of June.

Sydney, do you remember how many were waitlisted and how many got in?

haha it's funny I check my mail everyday, I know the letter said "as close to may 1st as possible"
it's sucks though because I know a lot of people that were waitlisted, more competition, I'm nervous.

i know, it really sucks. i talked to the person who compiles all the reply cards and she said they all haven't even arrived yet. but she said end of next week too..so who knows!

vladimir-
sorry, I don't know other than that "a small number" were accepted.

It's hard, I know. However, if you don't end up getting in off of the waitlist, I think you have a good chance of being accepted as a transfer student (which is what I did).

i've been waitlisted too. wait, so end of next week we'll find out?

at best, we could technically find out next week...but people have said that they were accepted in June or July, so...

Sorry to tell you this--but there will be no one called from the Barnard wait list this year (short of an unfortunate event for one of the acceptees) Time to move on

how do you know? did you call or something?

i don't think that is correct...because i called and they said they have not done the waiting list yet and will call applicants over the telephone..this wouldn't have been said if there were no spots.

anyone heard anything lately?
i cant stand this much longer...!

what helps the wait is concentrating on the college where you sent your deposit
