Spoke with admissions today and said they have a full class and are not pulling off the waitlist now.
Asked them why they don’t publicize this information so families can make other plans!
My son is a rising senior there and his freshman year there were no admissions from the waitlist either. My daughter will attend VT next year and her friend just received notice that they are not pulling anyone from the waitlist either. It seems as if this was a very competitive year for college admissions.
Letting people know would be the polite thing to do. They should send an email or post it to their blog. Personally, I am happier with where I will be attending, but it would put some closer to the process at Wake for me.
I gave up my space at VT. They admit so many though, so probably no need to use the wait list.
Any suggestions as to how I could possibly get admissions to make room? I have my spot reserved at another university but fell in love with Wake when I visited and just don’t have it in me to give up yet.
@Darwin101 Maybe you could offer to bankroll a monorail connecting Reynolda campus and Wake Downtown
Has anyone gotten the call? Wake is my #1 and am so anxious…still confused why some say they aren’t accepting off waitlist when some are getting phone calls?
anyone?
no calls, i think that wf is not accepting wl kids for may/june
Okay, so my son got a phone call yesterday from Wake Forest letting him know that he has been admitted! The financial aid is better than at any of the other schools where he was accepted, so I guess the waitlist status does not have anything to do with need based aid. Hang in there! It could still happen.
I might add that he said that he would be willing to stay on the WL until August 1. He did not call the admissions office or do anything else “extra” to show continued interest in the school. I have no idea how these decisions are actually made, but I know that for people who are waiting it can be helpful to collect any information from others, so there ya go!
@Athered1 Congratulations!! That must have been such a great phone call! Where had you placed your deposit? Does your son go to school in MA? Curious about his stats as well. I’ve not heard of anyone else off the WL for wake so he must be very qualified candidate!
Sorry that I went away and didn’t answer your question! Yes, my son went to school in MA, but we live in NC. He attended a competitive boarding school and graduated with “credit” (meaning basically honor roll), but he’s not a rock star. He had a 34 ACT and 1500 SAT (new). He belongs to several clubs and participates in 3 sports as well as theater productions.
The admissions person told me that they have only pulled about a dozen people off of the waitlist this year.
I hope that info. helps!
Oh, and to answer the other question…I am not paying close attention, apparently, he had previously decided to attend Hamilton in NY.
