wait list

what do you do if you are waitlisted??
is there anything that we can do??

sorry… just trying to prepare for what COULD happen…

well yes u can certainly feel bad and go to the other schul. other wise as the name itself suggest :::WAIT

SM

I wouldn't worry about this until you know you're waitlisted...

if you're waitlisted, do you have to send your 3rd quarter grades?

i don't know but it sounds logical...good yearlong grades would distinguish kids on the wait list from kids on the waitlist who slacked off... a.k.a "senioritis"

What I have heard from people who have been waitlisted at top echelon schools is that one of the most important things to do if you are waitlisted is to let them know that you are still interested. My friend who was waitlisted at Duke called once a week to see what his status on the waitlist was and eventually he got in, so that's my advice.

I've heard stories of people calling constantly to show interest, and then there was me who never did anything because my parents had already said they couldn't afford it and I still got off.

im actually here at Brown having gotten in off the waitlist. I'll tell you what I did if you get waitlisted at the end of March.

What about sending the letter now!!?! The "yes I will wait and here are some good things about me that happened recently" letter.

Send it now in anticipation of being waitlisted as a way to stand out from the crowd????

I wouldn't think that's a good idea... makes you look insecure. Don't stress yourself -- don't worry about waitlisting unless it actually happens.

I was thinking that it showed that one was obsessing on the Brown results and that it might be a way to get in RD if one were on the cusp???

I.e., shows a high probability of going to Brown if accepted.

noooooooooooo nooooooooooo noooooooooooo

that is a terrible idea. Don't even think about waitlist procedures untill you need to.

I second that.

I know some of the admissions people personally, and they definately would not appreciate it, especially at this stressful time.
