wait list

Does Brown take many students from their wait list?

not really

Didn't they take 150 ish last year?

50 would be a very, very gracious estimate.

well..... whats brown's policy if any on aid to intels accepted of waitlist??

SM

aid is need based, i'm not sure how need blind it is when you get to the waitlist.

According to the most recent info in the online USNWR, 1,400 students were offered a position on the Brown waitlist. Of these, 450 students accepted and 89 of these were actually admitted to the school. That's a 19.8% acceptance rate off the waitlist.

Of couse, waitlist situations can vary wildly from one year to the next, depending on what strategy the school decides to adopt.

What happens if you accept a position on the waitlist of a college? Are you still eligible to pay your deposit and plan on going to another school, only to withdraw if ultimately admitted to the WL school?

I am also curious about that.

Yes, lewisloftus, you got it right. You can pay a deposit to another school, but if you're accepted to the school that waitlisted you, you may withdraw from the school you sent the deposit to. (You won't get your money back though.) Waitlists are also non-binding, so if you are accepted but decide that you don't want to go, that's fine.
