Wait List.

My guess is your anchor is about to be weighed ... You might wanna start memorizing the USNA mission this nite.

Here's hoping. Safe sailing, good luck mate. :)

krrriiiiiieeggs!! haha you know who to call ;)

Thank you everyone! But I just received an email from him and all he wanted to know was if I wanted to stay on the waitlist untill the very end (I-Day). I told him yes.

Very disappointing, to say the least. Wow! What a horrible weekend!

He still said I have a chance, though. But I probably wouldn't be inducted with everyone else...

Sorry for your disappointment. Here's that it's only temporary.

Have you considered packing your bag and being there at the Admissions Office, prepared should the call come? We are personally aware of 2 young men appointed on I Day last year in that fashion.

Aw, nuts! I had my fingers and toes crossed for you, Kriegs! I shall continue, though, and throw in good thoughts and wishes! Sounds as if they are getting down to the nitty-gritty and you must be close in for an appointment!

If nothing else, if you don't join this class this certainly bodes well for the next. Hang in there and keep us updated!

semper gumby!

It is not over. Absolutely, hang in there. We are waiting with you!!!!

I'd call him back again and ask if there is a point to being kept on the waiting list until the end. Tell him you are willing to join 2011 in the last minute...you DEFINITELY want to me IN that class even if they call you to fly out that day i.e. I-DAY...if there is ANY chance, you WANT IT that badly...ask if someone is dropped that day if you will THEN be given the "call" BEG if necessary. I bet you get a call. Tell him to call your cell...and then INSURE that you leave it on that day and the next

Yes, in his message he told me that there is sometimes a great number of people that don't show up on I-Day and they need replacements for them from the waitlist. He told me that he would call me on my cell phone, but he also said the chances are very slim.

I have heard from my B&G Officer that they actually set up a small oath of the people who are waitlist accepted on I-Day. But it seems to me that you would really be missing out on one of the important experiences of I-Day at the Naval Academy...

Thank you again for all your support guys. It really does make me feel a lot better!

I suppose if you get IN...who cares about missing I-day...I'd call him (hope you don't **** him off) and ask to be FIRST on his call list!!!!!

kriegs,
funnyesq is giving you excellent advice. Talk about a cliffhanger! I'm rooting for you out here on the left Coast! :)

Quick story...I pushed the envelope once...nagged one more time when anyone else would have said "I wouldn't do it." I received the ultimate compliment...."I am impressed with your perceverance... I will find something so that we can hire you" (I had applied for a job and really wanted to work there....I was rejected...called back to see if "are you sure"...yes.....and thought...send another letter..."I reallly want this.." no response to letter....and I debated for 2 days...and finally thought..nothing ventured, nothing gained....and called and got the above response....The worst you will get is another rejection which you already have...the upside...you may just convince him you want it more than the other people on the list.

I'm thinking that if we don't hear from kriegs, that's good news...

Direct quote from my friend:

"Yeah, you don't need to apply or even get a nomination to get into annapolis. All you do is show up on I-day and sign your name into the book and as long as no one sees, you're in and no one will ever know. They'd rather take the random ****heads in the parking lot than the people on the waiting list"

I myself was waitlisted for USNA and never got the big envelope so Im going to the USCGA but I honestly think my friend is insane. Does anyone else think he is 'not all there' as well? He's going to Annapolis tomorrow so he can sign that book he keeps talking about, but he never got a nomination or even applied.

Please tell me you're joking. That's not only wrong, it's illegal (as anyone who's been through this process knows that the nomination is THE legal authority allowing you to enter a service academy).
If that's true, you'd better stop him. He's not only making a jack*** of himself, but he will get caught, as from what I've seen, the navy appointees already have their companies. They do have a list of who's supposed to be there. Yes, he does seem insane.

If your friend shows up at the Naval Academy as stated, he will be in for a rude awakening. There is no way that the admission office will offer an appointment to a ****head like your friend.

Maybe the admissions office will give your friend an enlistment contract and ship his ass down to Paris Island so that he can get a dose of reality.

Well, I'm still sitting at my house waiting. I couldn't get any sleep last night because all I could think about was I-Day and the chance of a phone call. The Oath is at 18:00, so I figure I have until about 14:00 to recieve a phone call. And don't worry, if I do hear something, I will definitely log on really quickly and let everyone know. If not, Class of 2012, here I come (hopefully!).

Tremendous attitude right to the end, Kriegs!!!
I REALLY hope you get that phone call today!

Me, too! Hang in there!!!

Kriegs,

So many are pulling for you. Would you consider calling and letting Admissions know that you could be there in a flash if a spot opened up today? Anyone think it would help?

At this point, anything might help. You never know...
