Anyone hear back about their Wait List Status yet?

not yet, I heard last year it was May 17.

Last year, before MIT notified people on the 17th, did they release a definitive "yes" confirming that they would use the waitlist?

Last year they emailed offers to those admitted from the waitlist on 5/17, concurrent with Matt's blog entry announcing that they had done so.

i can't wait any longer!:)

I wish it was sooner. I can't wait until May 17th.

May 17th is the day before my graduation lol.

WHAT? I don't graduate till JUNE 12th!! THAT IS SOO NOT FAIR!!

I graduate on June 13th (Friday the 13th!).

roar!! schools in norcal ends too late!! grrr

i think MIT is releasing their waitlist results after majority of the colleges do. (or at least their competitors.) I mean Harvard is going to accept somewhere around 150-175 students off waitlist.. so.. I bet MIT would loose some students..... I bet MIT is just waiting for the waitlist situation to become more clear before they accept more

waiting for MIT to release the waitlist news is such torture....... AHHH

School ends for me on the 8th.. but we have parties until the 11th and then high school ends...

I'm waitlisted as well, but to add another angle to the above poster's comment: I know several people who have actually rejected Harvard FOR MIT. The fact that Harvard is losing out, could be an extremely bad sign for us...as people are now rejecting prestige (Harvard) for actual fit (MIT).

For example, Harvard and Princeton are well below their intended class sizes this year, but places like Johns Hopkins are over-enrolled.

Oh well, it's probably better to look on the bright side...except we should be aware of the different possibilities, as well.

Everything's all topsy-turvy now with the changes in EA and stuff =P

"I know several people who have actually rejected Harvard FOR MIT."

This isn't new news. People have been turning down Harvard for MIT for a while. =)

MIT is admitting some where around 35 students off the waitlist. Good Luck!

Ouch, where did this info come from?

MIT Admissions | Blog Entry: "Waitlist News"

Good luck. I'm crossing my fingers, too. =X

As small as that number is, I'm not giving up.

never give up!

Sent in supplementary materials via e-mail yesterday. And nervously waiting for that magic phone call or e-mail!!!
