Did anyone else get put on Yale's wait list? (I got wait-listed for Princeton too, so I swear the schools must talk to each other.)

How likely is it that a wait-listed applicant may get in?

I got wait listed, but it is perfect since, if accepted, I was going to reject them for Duke anyway, however it still feels nice not to be rejected. =)

PWS: WL offers are anyone’s guess at this point. Y says they don’t expect to take any action until mid-May at earliest. GL to you.

I saw that this year less people are on the waiting list, only 769, down from last years ~ 1000.

Yale took about 40 from the waitlist last year.

no… they took 60

[Yale Daily News - Double take: Univ. offers fewer waitlist spots](http://www.yaledailynews.com/articles/view/28417)

Im sorry to say, but I bring bad news

I talked to my admissions rep the other day, and he said that Yale would most likely not be going to the waiting list at all this year. He did say they would keep the list active for spots opened up from people who may have initially accepted, but later changed.
Sorry.

Got this via email:

We appreciate your interest in remaining on our wait list, and I am writing to provide you with some information about your status. At this point, our entering freshman class is slightly over-subscribed, and we do not expect to make any offers to wait list candidates during the month of May.

However, as other institutions admit wait list candidates in the coming weeks, it is possible that a few places could still open here at Yale. We will do the best we can to notify you as soon as possible if we can extend an offer or if we must end further consideration of your wait list candidacy. As best we can tell at present, we should be able to make these notifications by the middle of June.

Sincerely,

Director of Undergraduate Admissions
