Wait list?

Ancalagon, when did your friend receive the call? Last week?

jc40 what state are you from?

I dont know if a lot of you know about this but the Vandy admissions office has a blog and they keep it updated pretty well on the status of everything

[The Vandy Admissions Blog](The Vandy Admissions Blog | Vanderbilt University)

Has anyone heard if they’ll be calling more this week? Any idea how the yield is looking? (i.e. How many spots do you project they still have?)

they said they started the 2nd round on friday and would be calling in the next 2-3 days. im not sure if that meant friday, saturday, sunday or friday, monday, tuesday

I read that on the blog, too, but I’ve yet to hear of more who’ve been accepted. I wonder how many, and who they’re targeting (i.e. ethnic, geographic, and college [engineering, A&S, etc.]). Anyone receive a call since last Friday?

Has anyone from TX received a call for A & S?

^ no, and i’ve been stalking my admissions rep ughh

anybody get a call in the “second wave?” Was there actually a “second wave” of offers from the waitlist?

I got a call just now! :D

So yes, the second wave does exist.

Does the fin aid package email come separate from the acceptance email??

Xminity…which college did you apply to? What region of the country do you live? Are you a URM by chance? M or F?

@jc40

I applied to the college of arts and science. I live in the West, and am a female. I am in no way a URM (more of a RM… which I think is more of a disadvantage than being white in terms of these admission processes) but I have always wished I were.

I am freaking out. I need my financial aid info, which I have not yet received, and I can’t contact them until Tuesday, which means my response may not be sent on time! ahh!

Looking through xmintyfresh’s posts, it appears she is from Alaska - probably an under-represented state…not to take anything away from your stats, xmint. You are certainly qualified.

XMinity…thanks for the response. I wouldn’t worry too much about the deadline; surely they understand the holiday wkd has delayed things a bit. Simply call them first thing Tuesday morning and inquire about financial aid rewards. I hope it works out for you. Vanderbilt was my daughter’s dream school, and she was crushed (and a bit shocked) when she was waitlisted. Her other offers, albeit great, fell short of igniting a “YEA” response. We’re from an over-represented area, and she’s applying to A&S, so we’re not very optimistic. The two girls she knows who have been admitted from the area were both engineering candidates. Oh well – if it’s meant to be, it will happen. Good luck!

@boomie

…stalker much? you could’ve asked… sorry, don’t appreciate creepers.

and @jc40, thanks.

Sorry, Xminty. Not a stalker. When you stated you were from “the west”, I was curious. I think the state you are from can make a difference. Didn’t mean to offend you in any way.

Any one know if there is any recent movement off the wait list?..or is 2010 admissions a done deal.

Our son received a call that he was accepted off the wait list on 5/28. Happily accepted.

Congrats Kchopeful! Do you mind me asking what college w/in Vandy he had applied to or what region of the country he’s from? Best of luck!
