<p>Has anyone heard anything about the wait list? I saw the one post that said they received an email, but nothing else. Have heard nothing positive or negatively about the wait list.</p>

<p>The limitations that cause this decision are those of the College – such factors as the number of dormitory rooms and the size of classes – not shortcomings of the applicants. Indeed we are aware of your accomplishments and wish we could recognize them more appropriately.</p>
<p>Saw that post. Nobody else has gotten that letter. We have heard nothing. Not sure what that means.</p>
<p>Just call the admissions office and you’ll get your answer nice and quickly.</p>
<p>And show them my paranoia/anxiety, i don’t think so. I have been told they will likely say that you should count on what you’ve already been accepted to and don’t count on Amherst. They are not likely to tell you any useful information.</p>
<p>I was under the impression Amherst College would not be using its waiting list this year…</p>

<p>I, too, am not aware that Amherst has announced one way or another. There is only one person who has actually received any definitive waitlist notification from Amherst. I am hopeful that Amherst might be waiting for any possible “summer melt.”</p>
<p>You don’t have to give your name when you call about if they’re accepting from the waitlist or not lol. It truly doesn’t hurt to try.</p>
<p>I’m sorry guys. But I emailed and they said that while no official decision has been reached yet, its unlikely they’ll be using the waitlist this year. Sorry guys. :(</p>

<p>called and was told that the are overenrolled. While the waitlist is not closed, it is unlikely they will be taking anybody off of it.</p>
<p>Received email just now…waitlist closed for class of 2014.</p>
