because people aren’t expected to send in their slips until may 1, the school doesn’t have a clear way to evaluate how much room they have on the waitlist

Tuition isn’t charged until registration… up until that time you can back out. I don’t remember if there is an acceptance deposit though.

I was just put on the waitlist today!.. it seems awfully late compared to everyone else. I was put on there after weeks of my decision pending. I accepted to be put on the waitlist and the majors i applied for are BSc Biology and Biomed/Life Science. I’m really disappointed… what do you guys think my chances are for making it into this program from the waitlist? is there anything i can do? send in letters of rec or change my applied majors? haha it sounds silly but i really am hoping to go to mcgill. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

came off the w8list for Biomed/Life Science today. Good luck to others.

I found out I was into Macdonald (enviro/agriculture) at the end of March, but found out about being waitlisted for commerce only a few days ago. I accepted the waitlist today, but I wish McGill were quicker about all of this, as in the US almost all deposits are due May 1, and I don’t get to visit McGill until May 13. Is it permissible to put a deposit elsewhere while considering another school? I feel like I would like to go to McGill, but the cost of commerce vs Macdonald is a big factor, as is visiting the campus.

I have the same worry over a late waitlist decision. How do they have time for all of this? Eep.
