I have read past forums regarding the wait-list and I’m sure I’m not the only one researching the odds of receiving admission & I’m sure there are people who have gotten off the wait-list and that can offer tips or info–so, I just thought that whoever comes to see this forum could reply and share.
My stats:
I didn’t do so well on my SAT or ACT, but I’ve maintained A’s & B’s.
Cumulative GPA: 3.8
Weighted: 4.0
Undeclared, life science
I have done a lot of community service and joined many clubs. I was the Co-Captain of the Academic Decathlon and was in student government. I have taken extra courses such as, American Sign Language and Medical Assisting. I really hope I have a second chance of getting off the wait-list—
@niktheslick, that’s great! Make sure to keep all of us updated-- Did you ever think of doing an appeal instead? and did you fill out the optional box? if so, what did you write?

@kylesca I thought of writing an appeal, but I don’t haven anything to base my appeal on. And for the optional box, I listed my fall 2014 grades and just said why I want to go there
Waitlisted in college of letters and science. GPA: 3.91 UW; 4.1 W. All IB classes. School does not officially rank, but top 5%. SAT: 1870 ACT: 28 Superscore. Extras: Leadership, varsity soccer, debate, and other ECs. CA public school.
@niktheslick, best of luck to you now!-- I’m still debating on whether to accept the offer or write an appeal; I do feel like I have a strong case, but it’s difficult to tell which of the two will actually be successful.
