Just a student that was wait-listed for Hamilton’s class of 2020. Anyone else here wait-listed or have been wait-listed before? What are you guys doing to strengthen your chances? Any advice?
D was waitlisted at 3 schools, rejected by 2 (including Hamilton - see Hamilton thread for ED2 Class of 2020) and accepted at 3. She took her acceptances and moved on and I think is going to the school that is a perfect fit for her. Because the Common App allows more kids to apply to many more schools, its greatly increased the level of uncertainty for the colleges and they are hedging their bets by increasing the number of students they put on the waitlist. You can try to appropriately update the Admissions office but honestly take your acceptances, make a choice and move on. Its not worth extending the whole decision time frame another month. BTW, last year according to the CDS, Hamilton put 958 students on their waitlist and 365 took the waitlist with 47 finally being admitted.
