Wait-listed from Boston College

I was wait-listed from Boston College and thus had to send my deposit into UConn. I don't find out from BC until July 1st at the LATEST. If I were to get accepted off the waitlist, any suggestions on what I should do? I mean I will have gone to UConn's orientation by then and I already have a roommate for UConn. I just feel like BC is too good of a school to turn down.
P.S. Money is not in consideration here
P.P.S. I'm going into accounting

Any thoughts/opinions/similar stories?

put the prestige factor aside for a minute and compare the two schools on an equal playing field…

also, i know several people who have been taken off the waitlist so it’s definitely possible.

If you get in go to BC, everything will work out for the roommate!

Go to BC if you end up getting in… you only live once.

July 1 at the latest means you’ll probably find out much closer to may 1, but there may be a few last minute acceptances in late june

as for which to choose, it sounds like you really like BC but are expecting to get excited about a future at uconn over the next month or so. I think you should wait and see what happens. If you are lucky enough to get accepted, decide then. Ask yourself: do you still truthfully like BC better? do you want to give up what you’ve been waiting for at UConn? If you still don’t know, visit both again, or at least BC, since you will probably visit UConn by then anyway, and determine which school is best for you this way.

I don’t know anything about specific departments at either school, but maybe someone else can help with that. Try looking at their success in career and graduate school placement.
