I just recevied the Thin White Envelope (TWE) yesterday. However, I realize that this means that it isn’t over yet because in the letter it said that I was placed on the National waiting list. Does anyone know a way I could find out where I am on the list? If not, how would I reapply next year? Would they keep all of my letters of reccomendation and those things on file?

If you are applying next year, you have to re-apply for all nominations. You could probably keep the same letters of recommendations. I have no idea about the waiting list.

You can’t really find out where you stand on the wait list since the AFA never releases the WCS. Additionally, your nom source would be charged. For example, there may be a candidate with a lower WCS, but gets in because he/she has a Presidential and you don’t. Just as you may get in because your MOC’s apptmt was declined.

The other thing to understand/realize is they typically will give you a new ALO. It is no reflection on you or your ALO, but “NEW EYES” on your package.

You should also want to submit new recs because you have grown in the past yr and want to highlight that growth.
