So I heard that Davis has a ridiculously large waitlist, Davis was my first choice and I accepted the waitlist offer but now I’m stuck. I got into UCSB, UCSC, Sac State, and SF State. I’ve kind of narrowed it down to UCSB or SF State. I like that SF is a great deal closer to home for me than SB. I’m concerned about the lack of diversity at UCSB and just not getting along with people. I just don’t know what to do =/

UCSC isn’t that bad then! If you live close to SF then Santa Cruz is close as well. I believe you’re asian? I’m not too sure because you said that you won’t fit in SB because of its lack of diversity (majority caucasian). Well, there’s lots of Asians in SC (friends go there)!

You should consider SC as well. I think it would be good fit. Not saying that SFSU and UCSB are bad schools though, not at all!

Plus, what’s your major? what type of person are you? do you like to live in the city? in a college town? love to party?

Choose the college you’ll like best!

How are you financially? If that’s not a problem, I would choose UCSB (didn’t know there was a Caucasian majority), but that is because I dislike UCSC’s campus. If the campus for SC suits you, that could also be an option.

I think you should only choose a SFSU over a UC if you want a cheaper option : )

What’s your major?

Yeah, UCD’s waitlist is much larger than any of the other UC’s, but I wish you luck on getting in. But, UCSB is still quite diverse, I mean it’s California. It may be good to get a little far away from home, to explore new waters and things. Any UC will out rank a CSU, but definitely go for what fits you best. Have you gotten the chance to visit the other campuses?

collegeboard is always 2 years outdated

Actually, I am white, just my parents are big on me having a diverse college experience, being that my sister went to Cal. Mostly what I’m worried about at all the schools that I got into, is not fitting in with the type of person who goes there, that could just be me stereotyping the people who attend these schools though. Lets see, I’m from a small rural town with about 3000 residents, my family is far from rich being that my dad is a farmer along with everyone else who lives here. I really want to get away from a small town, I’m really easy to get along with, not a big partier, and I’m involved in just about everything that there is to do. I have kind of ruled out Santa Cruz because I’m not crazy about the campus, I get kind of a summer camp vibe from the school. I’m also pretty undecided on my major which doesn’t help. I’m thinking pre-med but not sure.

Oh yeah, and I have visited all the campuses except SF state which I am doing this week.

If I were you I’ll go to SB if Davis doesn’t work out. I believe Davis and SB are pretty similar in student body population, minus the white majority part. There’s still a good amount of Asians at SB so I think its still pretty diverse.
