waitlisted...

so does anyone know what the chances are of getting accepted on a wait list??

Sorry to say it but historically its been anywhere from 10% to less than 1% (i.e. like 3 people) taken from the wait list. You do mean the RD waitlist right? i havent been paying attention. If so, the RD waitlist only exists to fill holes left by people who choose not to attend for random reasons.

yeah Regular decision..

waitlisted as well

Perro, Cornell already has something like a 40% yield rate, how could they not have holes?

I'm guessing that it's because they take into account of that yield, so they accept a lot more students in the beginning. It seems like A LOT of people are waitlisted this year...

It looks like they forgot to clear the Wait List fields on the 2001 Common Data Set form, because it is highly unlikely that the numbers would be exactly the same as 2000. But that's what they posted on the web site.

They don't break out the Wait List by college at Cornell so it really comes down to what spots they need to fill in which college.
The following link is to a report on Undergraduate Enrollment http://dpb.cornell.edu/irp/pdf/Repo...Trends_2004.pdf
It notes that the University is comitted to a class size of 3050 students and that they plan to use the wait list to get up to that number.

3.88 gpa
ok essays - probably what hurt me

i thought i had a good shot =[
i really didn't think so many people this year would get rejected/waitlisted. do you think its because they started using the common app? or jus larger graduating classes (what my teachers have been telling me)?

Did any of you who applied to AEM choose a second choice major?

no.. i wasn't really interested in anything else in that college. since business was very diff from everything else offered in CALS
