I got my letter-back today and was told I was wait-listed. As it was explained, the wait-list is unranked and the committee reconvenes after offers are returned and re-evaluates wait-listers for the number of spots available.

There's also a note that you can send additional materials for review. What would be suggestions of things that would be appropriate to send? Just additions to a resume/awards won?

Also, the acceptance rates off the wait-list seem low (in 2011, no one got in!) Assuming there only a handful of spots, anyone wanna tell me if I have a snowball’s chance in hell?

*Note: I got wait-listed to Walsh SFS.

How many pieces of paper were in the wait list envelope?

Three (it felt somewhat thick - so I held out hope after hearing CC-ers say it came in a small envelope with lots of papers)

Even if you don’t have any new materials to submitt, I recommend sending a brief leeter summarizing your background, ECs, strengths, how you can contribute to SFS, and most importantly, you’re interested should a slot open up.

Very few folks are admitted, if any, from the waitlist, but it doesn’t hurt to have your name recognized should the opportunity present itself.
