Wait-listed Students Discussion Binghamton University Freshmen Fall 2014

Hello. i just was notified that i was waitlisted for EOP yesterday. I really was hoping i would get accepted to Binghamton. What are my chances that i will be offered a seat? Is it likely? Is anyone else in my situation?

In reading posts from last year and other info on the Internet, it does not look good. It appears they only take very few people off the wait list - I saw the number 20 mentioned. However, it also depends on the school and if they need to fill other needs of student types. Wait list with spring admit appears to be a higher chance then just wait list and I have not read about where EOP fits in.

@MrWho123 so are you saying i will not get in?

How do I accept being put on the waitlist?

@Laser14 I have no idea what will happen. I just stated what I have read about what happened in the past.

@natantantan in the envelope there was a postcard that you fill out and send back to them so they can put you on the waitlist

I got waitlisted too so I’m waiting as well

as of last year, there was no postcard. you are automatically on the waitlist.

There is a post card to enroll for Spring and stay on waitlist or not enroll and stay on waitlist or reject Bing.

I think we decided on our strategy. The one and only nice thing about the spring admit is the deposit is refundable until Nov 1st. So the plan is to attend another school in the fall and have a guarentee transfer to Bing if unhappy. We could probably delay the decision to go to Bing until mid Dec (or whenever spring tuition is due) and if we decide not to go we lose the $350 deposit.
