an email regarding to Waiting List from Service Point –

Students who are offered a place on the waitlist are required to confirm that they wish to be on the waitlist by accepting the offer in Minerva.

Our waitlists are not ranked. Once students decline an offer of admission and space becomes available, we then re-evaluate each applicant on that program’s waitlist. This process begins after May 1st, which is the deadline for most admitted students to accept their offer of admission.

We are unable to predict if any students will decline their offers of admission.

If you have been accepted to one program and placed on a waitlist for another, you can accept the offer for the program that you have been admitted to and also accept the waitlist offer. If you then receive an offer for the waitlist program and wish to accept this offer instead, please notify us by email to servicepoint@mcgill.ca and we will make the change for you.

The waitlist is kept open until the start of classes. You may remain on the waitlist as long as you wish. Note that accepting an offer from another university will not affect your application status at McGill. If later on you receive admission here and decide to cancel your admission at another school in order to accept our offer, note that you would normally lose the admission deposit made to that school.

For non-Canadian applicants, keep in mind that the process to apply for and receive the immigration permits can take 3 to 4 months. For help with the immigration process, please contact our ISS Office (International Student Services).
