Hey so I got wait listed at Connecticut College, Haverford College, Case Western Reserve University, Colby College, Hamilton College, Kenyon College, and Davidson College. I got accepted into Gettysburg and Dickinson, but neither of those schools are my top choice. HELP! I do not know what to do. Why would they all wait list me? What do I do now? What did I do wrong? any help would be appreciated
- They waitlisted you independent of each other -- they liked what they saw but didn't have enough room in the initial offers -- so thus came the WL.
- Choose either GBurg and Dickinson -- and plan on attending one. Act as if no other offers will come in later. Make deposits, choose housing, etc. Simultaneously, accept WL spots from the schools that you would choose OVER GBurg or Dickinson (whichever you choose). Then if any of them approach you later with an offer, you can look it over and determine if it's one you'd like. If so, then take the offer and withdraw from GBurg/Dickinson. If not, turn it down and stay with GBurg/Dickinson. You can do this with each and every school that waitlisted you. You're under no obligation to accept their offer later -- so it doesn't hurt you to accept a spot on their WL.
- Nothing. You certainly didn't expect to be accepted by every school you applied to did you? Your ego is a little bruised. It'll pass. You'll be 100% fine.
