Wait-listed

I was waitlisted! Anyone else? I’d also like to know how their wait list works since it says “unranked.” How would they pick who gets to go in and who doesn’t? It also says its “short” but how short is short? Are they just trying to be nice about it? haha

Thanks to anyone who can answer these questions!

Congrats to all those who got accepted. :]

I got waitlisted too. From the looks of it, there aren’t many of us out there.

same here…

waitlisted too. 740 M, 720 R, 640 CR, GPA 4.05, Rank 39 out of 392, 3 varsity letters per year. not sure what the shortcoming was?

same here.
no idea how the whole “short, unranked” thing works…

I was waitlisted too.

Ahh darn… I hope we all get in! Looks like we’ll get in though if we can afford it though. Lots of people aren’t going to BU because of the cost and this economic recession D:

I think I’m going to call BU on Monday to see how their waitlist process works. I’ll try to post what I get from them!

Oh yes, please post everything you find out! I’m really hopeful…I’d really like to go to BU.

To me, getting waitlisted is basically like getting rejected. I was gonna choose between GW and BU if I had gotten into BU, but now I don’t have that choice, so even if I get off the waitlist, it will be too late to matter.

@Vitare: exactly. What the hell is up with the June 15th notification date? SIR’s are due by May 1st.

well thats another thing. For those of us who really want to go to BU, we should call the other schools that we were accepted at and check up on their policies regarding financial aid, a refund on the SIR (if any), and other information. We should even call BU to see if June 15th is a realistic day that they will give us a response. I bet its just to cover themselves so people don’t get mad.

It should be May 15th instead of June 15th. June is WAAAYYY too late.

I remember when I applied, I had some friends who got off the waitlist just a few days after the decisions came out. So if everything is the same, you’ll probably find out before June 15th.

Is it possible to find out before May? Because that would be excellent.

ahh in that case, we should probably be able to find out by the upcoming or next week? If not, they should come out by early may right? because everyone should have sent in their SIR by then

i got waitlisted to. i really assumed that i would get in. i took basically the hardest schedual i possibly could and did alright but it seemed that i could do alright with 10 APs and get in to BU. have lots of ECs too but what ev. i still dont really understand waitlists. can someone explain what the deal is?

Well… I got in but the chances are I won’t be able to afford it. Maybe one of you will be able to take my spot.

Waitlisted. But I’ll probably take myself off since it’s not exactly my dream school (I didn’t even do an interview and spent about 30 min on my essay), so I hope that increases chances for the rest of you!

wait listed too, got the short waitlist letter plus they added something about financial aid possibly not being sufficient because of the wait list. If I am off the wait list I will go to BU.

Canuddoa basically wait list means we wait until all the people who are accepted have made their decision. As spaces free up they pick people from the wait list. An unranked wait list means they pick people randomly. I am hoping it is first come first served since I replied as soon as it was up on the website, before they even sent me the email notifying me that the decision was up. Theoretically, some people could hear before May if people decide against BU and spaces free up. I know someone last year who was waitlisted and heard three weeks later they were accepted.

I think most of us will hear before June 1 since everyone has to respond by May 1 and put in their deposits for RD.

Did anybody call today? I’m planning to tomorrow.
