Wait-listed

Is there a way a rejected prospect can get onto the waitlist?

^ You would have to send them an appeal.

I called today, they weren’t very helpful. I did tell them that BU was my first choice, but they couldn’t tell me how many people were on the waitlist or how many they normally take off. They did tell me that they don’t take anyone off the list before May 1.

If anything helps, I probably won’t go to BU, since my parents are forcing me to go to Uconn, so one of you could take my spots…

but are you SMG? T~T

curious: if i applied SMG and all the spots are let up for CAS, will i be able to get in? D:

sillyome. UConn isn’t that bad. It is a mini-BU in my opinion. Almost half the cost. :frowning: But I still love my BU.

I’m mostly annoyed by this whole wait list situation. Boston is definitely my number one school and I thought for sure that I would get in. It’s funny how things work out. I guess the only thing I have going is that I know about three people who got accepted from my high school that aren’t going, which frees up space for all of us, including myself. I got a lot of money from a school in Ohio that I plan on using to bargain for financial aid, but if that doesn’t work, then I probably won’t be able to afford Boston either. Good luck to all of you.
Out of curiosity, what school in Ohio? I’m from Ohio, and we have SO MANY universities here almost everyone stays in state for school. Plus, every high schooler knows everything there is to know about Ohio schools, as the info is drilled into us starting freshman year…

My high school is located about 20 minutes west of Cleveland. I know what you mean though. From the start of my freshman year up until now, everything the guidance counselors have said has related to something about OSU, OU, Cinci, Toledo, ect. OSU and OU simply are not my cup of tea.

I applied to OU as a safety, I’m thinking about it though, because I got into Scripps, which is an excellent communication school. I’d love to get off the wait list at BU, though.

I got accepted into CAS, but I have already declined my offer. Let’s hope one of you gets it.

Well it is interesting to see how many great students seem to be waitlisted along with my daughter. All AP courses, ranked 18 out of 360 in class, works, capt of vb, honor society, etc, etc, etc. Really never thought the school was a stretch. This was our first choice but since there probably won’t be any finaid even if we do get off this list, it is probably off to someplace else. BU’s loss

do you guys think writing a letter would help?

I do. My son was accepted to a waitlist school and I truly believe it makes a difference if the school knows you will accept. It also helps if you don’t need aid because that is an easy decision. IMHO

did ur son get any aid after he got of waitlist?

Generally, there is little or no FA available from any school if you are accepted off of the waitlist. We did apply this year but will not hear until June
