I'm wondering if I can tap in to the collective wisdom on this lovely board...

My son was waitlisted at one of his top choice schools. I think it is wise that he reach out to them in some way to let them know how interested he is in attending...does anyone have any advice, experience or tips for him?

Just as background info, he is a jazz musician performance major, drumset. This school only accepted CD's, no auditions at all. For some unknown reason (that he is kicking himself over now), he did not submit the pieces exactly as required...what can I say? He had convinced himself that he would get rejected straight away because of this, so being wait listed felt like a gift to him, and opened up those floodgates of hope again.

I know that no college/university knows how or if they will use their waitlisted applicants, but I want him to be able to feel that he gave it the best shot he could (after his initial blunder). Any advice would be much appreciated!
