I was wait-listed at Harvard, Princeton, and Yale yesterday and I was wondering if you had any advice for how to approach this situation. After crying a bit yesterday, I've pulled myself together and decided to write a letter of continued interest to each school. Is there anything more I can do? Thank you for all your help!

Were there any colleges that you got in that you want to go?

i was waitlisted too anyone have any advice for getting off waitlists?

I was accepted at Brown (which I absolutely love and would be so happy to go to) but I still want to see what happens…?

I was also waitlisted at all 3 (and also brown and columbia, but accepted to penn, cornell, and johns hopkins!) - I am also going to write letters of continued interest, and then try to forget about them until late June as I focus on the positives (aka acceptances). Also, I would suggest talking to your college counselor and asking him/her to speak to the schools if possible.

i got into harvard, yale, and dartmouth…and ALL of my other schools…but princeton, my top choice, waitlisted me! =[ i really really really really still want to go to princeton. does anybody have an idea as to when people will start getting called off the waitlist ? =[ =[

Who should I address the letter of continued interest to?
I’m wondering if I should address it to the admissions office in general or the dean of admissions.

Any thoughts?

I think Princeton waitlistees are going to have a hardtime getting off the waitlist. Most people seem to be choosing Princeton. Then again, this just means that more Harvard/Yale spots are opening up!!! :)

Waitlisted too. At Harvard as well, and I’m staying on, even though I’m into Brown and Columbia, just for kicks. How many people will they let in this year? How big is the waitlist? And should we keep them updated?

According to the letter I got today, the haven’t accepted ANYONE off of the waitlist for the past two years. :/

^They accepted 60 out of the waitlist last year and 148 the year before according to the letter I got.

^Yeah, I read that somewhere as well. There have been years when they haven’t accepted anyone, but not in the the last few years, at least.

I was waitlisted at both Princeton and Columbia, but I would really love to go to Princeton. We’ll see…if not, it’s looking like it might be CMU for me, but I’m not sure.
