wait, so am i admitted??

I applied first choice to NYU Stern Business and Political Economy and also checked off the box that if admitted to there, I would like to be considered for NYU Abu Dhabi. A couple days ago I got an email saying that I was a finalist selected to go to the NYU Abu Dhabi candidate weekend... but does that mean I am admitted then even if they didn't send me a formal acceptance letter?
I'm confused.

“checked off the box that if admitted to there, I would like to be considered for NYU Abu Dhabi”
I don’t know for sure, but that seems like a yes :)

Just curious, what were your stats?

Well, sounds like you were admitted to me.

soulds like an acceptance…but dude,Abu Dhabi

no that’s not an admittance. they select whether you get in or not at candidate weekend…or at least that’s what john sexton said last week at plenary.

@sansri… I think serendipity is referring to the NYC campus not the Abu Dhabi campus

Yes, you are admitted to NYU (New York)! Congratulations. :D

Basically what Mr. Sexton told us at CW is that NYU Abu Dhabi is meant to be a sort of honors college within New York University; it would make sense that if you were a finalist for the honors college you would have been first accepted as a student to the university as a whole. I was a little taken aback when I realized it too, haha.

No I dont think you got admitted.
I know two people who are going to Abu Dhabi and they said that NYU Abu Dhabi and NYU (New York) are separate.
You could get into one without getting into the other.

“if admitted to there, I would like to be considered for NYU Abu Dhabi. A couple days ago I got an email saying that I was a finalist selected to go to the NYU Abu Dhabi candidate weekend…”

you’re in.

i emailed the lady and she said for me, because i didn’t apply to abu dhabi, being admissible to NYU new york was a condition to being considered for abu dhabi… so i’m guessing i’m in, but they’re not allowed to release official decisions until april.
