Waiting/Chances thread

Sigh... it's the worst part : waiting. Who's with me? We should all team up and ... deal with the suspense. I need a support group or something.

Anyway... it's what you've all been waiting for:
chances!!!

Caucasian female
3.88 GPA
4th in a class of 6 - I think ranking a class of 6 qualifies for like, a world stupidity record.
30 ACT
Pretty good reccomendations - my principal managed to refer to me as 'he' at one point, though, so i'm not sure how that reflects on things.
Decent essays - not really THAT great, but, they're pretty good. I hope.
Design team for 3 years on newsletter
pres of yearbook
vice pres of student council
(that was pretty much every club our school has ever offered)

aaaand.. yeah.

wow...youre school is tiny indeed...

anyway...i think youre a match at umich...gpa is right in line...same w/ your act score...and you got good ecs...but your class rank might hurt you a bit...but im pretty sure that umich doesn't even really look at that so you should be fine...

are you applying from instate or out? cuz thatll make a dif in how tough it is to get in...

ah, yeah, that's what i forgot. i'm instate.
the suspense is horrible. i almost don't care if i get rejected, i just want to KNOW!!!

i got in with very similar stats, only a much higher class rank. you'll get in!

wow, ranking in a class of 6, you por thing!! DS graduating class is 25 and they don't rank, it would be awful if they did - a big cluster of kids are at the top. It wouldn't do anyone justice.

I didn't even think graduating classes that small existed. Do you all have to take like the same 5 classes every year? Seems kinda crappy if people have different interests. Maybe it works out really well, who knows.

wait- a class of SIX- what kind of school do you go to?????

tiny little private school. 200 kids, from pre-k - 11th (although they're adding a 12th grade next year - I got out just in time) ... yeah we have absolutely NO choice in the classes we take. This year, for the first time ever, we got an "elective" class - you get to choose calculus or lit in media, and i was missing a math credit, so got stuck with calculus, having had no experience in precalc or trig. They cram the entire high school (9th thru 11th) into one class, so we end up with about 30 students. During my entire time in high school, they've only offered two honors courses.
We've all pretty much got the same grades - the person above me has a 3.89 GPA, i had a 3.88, and so, I get pushed into the lower 50% of the class. I would have been 4th in a class of 4 (which would have been kinda interesting, just to be able to tell people, oh hey, i'm at the bottom of the class rank and i have a 3.9 gpa) but luckily, an old student came back, and my cousin decided to graduate early.
