Waiting for 1st term to be over......

Let the waiting begin......

We now have about 6 weeks until the end of October til our midshipmen get to come home for the term break. Will your son/daughter come home or go home with a friend? What plans do they have?

my son can't wait to come home! I don't know if he will bring a friend home or not, but he is more than welcome to do that since we are only 3-4 hrs away!

As far as plans, I know he is gonna go talk to his HS about the USMMA during the October break as opposed to the Thanksgiving break.

It will kill my heart to have to go to work that week, so I need to figure out how we will manage me staying home more...... ;)

KP10 will come home and we will fill him with great meals and good family conversation.

I know he plans also to visit his hs as a USMMA representative. Other than that I have no idea what he has in mind for that week. Probably a whole lot of sleeping in!

I have heard that this break is another hurdle and that some students have a real hard time going back.

I am already relenting going into work that week also!

my boyfriends coming home and im really excited. too bad im stuck in school! but i dont have classes tue or thur so i will get to see him. and then he can spend time with his family :) AND the mids are here 2 weekends which is great. we def gonna hit the beach up, im sure he missed california and our amazing weather. :)

My daughter will be home for October break too. We are also only 4 1/2 hours from KP. She will be happy just to sleep in, watch TV and see her friends that are still in the area. I can't say she's excited about the food, since she claims l loose when my cooking is compared to Delano's food.

She won't come home for Thanksgiving since it's only a couple of weeks after they get back and they only get 4 days, but we'll meet her at my sister's house only 1 hour from KP. (She claims her uncle cooks a better turkey than I do anyway!) We figure she'll bring a bunch of her friends there that won't be going home for that holiday either and my sister has many more extra beds than we do. She has made a number of friends from all over the country. I can't image too many of them going home for October break and then turning around a couple weeks later to fly back home for only 4 days.

We are all really looking forward to getting to spend some quality time with her!

Has anyone seen their mid-term grades yet?

I'm sure they are all A's

actually everyone goes home for october break except for some athletes then fly home again for thanksgiving. i wouldnt count on too many of your daughters friends going with her to her uncles house. but four days away from this place isnt ONLY four days, those are the most amazing times of the year, being at home and away from here, and it being a holiday where families get together, kids will be going home

Final Exams end on Friday, Oct. 27, does anyone know what time the last final ends? My son needs to fly out of Islip and the last flight is at 5:50pm. Does he have enough time to make his flight?

Any advise or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

we dont have the final exam schedule yet so theres no way of knowing. last year for the second and third trimesters i had all my exams done by wednesday but first tri i wasnt done until friday, but if hes done wednesday he should be able to go home that night or thursday morning, but if he has a friday afternoon final he should be able to make the 5:50 flight, it just might be cutting it a little close depending on how long he takes on the final

which sports won't be home for Oct break, the ones currently in session or the winter sports?

the ones now, i dont think football goes home at all, soccer gets a few days off to go home and i dont know about anything else

wrestlers get a few days
