Waiting for a decision from Webster's Conservatory

My D auditioned/interviewed in November on campus for entry into Webster’s Concert Design program. Not sure when we’ll get a decision. She has been notified from UofA that she has been accepted into their Design/Tech program, which is fantastic, however the Concert Design program aligns more with her long term goals. Does anyone know when Webster will make their decision?

Many schools don’t make their decisions until March.

For acting Webster is among the last to notify -very last day of March our year. (Academic admit is rolling. This is for artistic admit)

She was admitted academically months ago :slight_smile: now just waiting for the conservatory’s decision.

@lazs91 I don’t know if the entire conservatory notifies at the same time or if different majors do it differently. But the BFA acting and MT are very clear that they notify late March and all on the same day. I think it was by email and/or snail mail (not a phone call). Hope that helps.

Hmmm…we went early (beginning of November)to see the campus and audition and wasn’t told anything specific at that time. And, yes that does help. Thanks.

Has anyone heard anything from Webster’s Conservatory regarding acceptance?

Still waiting on Webster’s decision as well

I think letters are going out this week. We heard from Webster and my D has been accepted! She is a lighting design tech major.

@latinaMTmom Good luck!

My S received his decision letter in the mail today for MT.

Nothing in the mail for my D today. Does anyone know if rejection letters go out at the same time as the acceptance letters?

Letter for D arrived today. Webster was a no.

Sorry to hear @diamondparent hopefully there are some yes letters for your D. Any one else hear from Webster?

My son and I visited Webster last week. The theatre students were incredibly friendly. We both liked the campus and the BFA program. Might not be for everyone though, as their rehearsal/classroom space is off campus (down a couple of blocks in an office complex in a strip mall). Didn’t bother my son at all, as he attends a performing arts high school that is very spread out and not a traditional high school campus.
Best of luck to those of you waiting to hear from Webster.

@Orion1325 - We thought the students in the conservatory were so friendly and inclusive. Made my D feel right at home.

@lazs91 - My son felt the same way! We sat in on a rehearsal and the assistant stage manager came over and introduced herself to us and then introduced us to the cast. Almost all of them came up to my son individually at the break to introduce themselves and ask him if he had any questions. I was impressed with this, and also the fact that the guest director knew all of the students by name and referred to them by name (rather than their characters’ names). We also found the students at TCU to be incredibly friendly and inclusive to visitors (as is Harry Parker, the head of the program). Lastly, we’ve heard great things about Syracuse and what a “family” the acting and MT students are. My son is so fortunate to have so many great choices. A difficult decision indeed…

My D received her official acceptance to Webster today! Lighting Design!
