Waiting for Annenberg...

I hope my bubble won't be burst.

I have posted here with stats before, so don't get annoyed if this feels like an echo. Now I have taken the SAT, and I don't think there's much else I can do to up my scores. Basically, if I do not get into Annenberg as a Communication major I will fall into a deep depression... bahhh. An honest someone on another board told me that Annenberg is a "FAR REACH" for me based on my stats, even though, in all honesty, I feel I would be an attractive candidate. Please let me know... do I have a good chance?

RECOMMENDATION:
From my newspaper advisor who will probably write a spectacular rec letter - and has been with me to several "USC High School Journalism Days." She knows that I really want to get into Annenberg.

I would be happy to chance you back, but I don't know how great I would be at it. :-)

i like your chances. I think you will be fine

I think your chances are actually pretty great. The only thing I would suggest is trying to SAT another time, just to be safe.

Also, USC recommends taking 3 subject tests. It’s not required, but if a college recommends it, it’s probably a good idea…

Anyways, good luck with your application. I myself will be starting my college career at USC, Annenberg School (:

Don’t be concerned with an honest someone who told you Annenberg is a reach. NO ONE here can give you your real chances. The only thing I recommend is to compare your stats to those who were accepted. And even that is not that honest but it’s really all we can do here.

I’ve never seen that USC recommends three subject tests. CaptainKurtz- can you give us a link?

So- in comparison to the latest Freshman profile, your GPA looks good but I would recommend taking the SAT again. USC superscores and if you are that desperate to get in, not taking it again would be giving up.

Good luck!

SAT Subject Tests
We only require SAT Subject tests from freshman applicants who do not attend a regionally accredited high school (e.g., home school, some non-accredited parochial or community based programs, even some newer schools). These students must submit three SAT Subject exams, including one in mathematics. For all other applicants, these exams are optional, but recommended. We find them helpful in evaluating applications for merit scholarships.

^thanks CaptainKurtz- that works. I’m just the link police here trying to keep info valid.
