My D has received only one official rejection notification even though we know she did not gain acceptance to several auditioned programs due to lack of a callback or phone call. (Which I only happen to know is the process because of CC.) How horrible for students who, without the insight from CC, are still waiting on acceptances that will not be coming. No one likes getting rejection letters, but shouldn't there be some notification or closure to the process?

I know. I wonder what happens to those who are absolutely clueless. I cannot even imagine waiting and not knowing how this process works. I sincerely hope they pick up the phone and call to find out…

On the flip side, I will have to say some days I would have preferred not having the inside scoop on all the phone calls and emails that we didn’t get. :/

Honestly, I have to say, this has been really really hard on me to KNOW everything. My D is intentionally not involved with Allied or checking the forums. She hasn’t even checked web portals unless the school sends an email. Although I have. She has told me she doesn’t want to know a thing until she is formally informed by each school. So I have basically known many of the decisions before her and have had to keep quiet. Since we are basically down to Pace’s Screen Acting program we have no idea if all this information we have even applies to that program. And I’m with you Acting 720, to a degree ignorance is bliss and I would have appreciated a little more bliss over the last few weeks :(

mom2gals, just wanted to let you know that my son did receive his letter from Pace about a week ago. We did get an acceptance phone call before that and academic acceptance a while ago. The letter talked about the BA in Theatre and the BFA in Acting, but no mention of the Screen Acting program. I wonder if it’s not going to be up and running. I think that my s signed on for it all when he did his audition. Just checked with ds. He said that they did talk about the Screen Acting BFA, mentioned that it was not yet approved. He said he checked the box for it as he is interested in that area. Hope that helps…

My understanding was that they are just waiting for certification on the BFA for film. Kids who got acceptances into that program will be BA Theatre until the official program gets certification sometime this year.

We got waitlisted for the BFA for Film TV VO. Not sure what to think. They say that people get in off the waitlist but it would surprise me.

yes, so true, mom2gals, i appreciate so much the support and camaraderie here on CC, but the TMI has nearly killed both my son and me. I am so grateful the waiting game is almost over for all.

ok so would you say the ship has sailed and I’m just waiting for it to crash with no hope of a last minute rescue, I’m the last of the hopeless optimists, please put me out of my misery take away the life boat.

I wonder, after reading discussions on CC, if no news is a sort of limbo state of acceptance? What list are the kids who aren’t officially a. Accepted b. rejected or c. Wait listed? Is it possible that until April 1, no news is not bad news, yet?

Some schools do not send decisions until April 1, so no news yet is not necessarily bad news. Some schools also send decisions in batches through April 1.
