@snoozn - your waitlist stats are a little bit off for the College of Arts & Sciences. I think the Common Data Set numbers you’re looking at include the Conservatory. Last year in A&S, we didn’t take anyone off the waitlist, and the previous year we took 15. But that’s because we’ve over-enrolled for the last two years. This year we’re deliberately trying to under-enroll with our initial offers of admission, and to use the waitlist to fill the class the rest of the way. I’ll write a more detailed blog post about it in a few days.

any intl students out there got an email yet? :(

ginnylee - Nope, still waiting! I’m glad it’s not just me. :)

Elizabeth, thanks for setting things straight! Maybe you can answer a question (yes I’ve started to worry even though my daughter hasn’t heard anything yet!): Is it true at Oberlin that being accepted off the waitlist means no chance of merit aid?

oh, but Ginny…it’s worth keeping the time difference in mind, too. Which you probably are, but I need reminding sometimes, haha. ;)

suitcases, yes I do keep the time difference in mind :). But it is already 2PM their time
will they email today or in a few days’, to keep it fair that everyone has the decision at the same time :(

I don’t know! Bowdoin emailed me my decision on the same day that they mailed them to everyone in the US, but you could be right. We’ll find out pretty soon either way…I’m trying to stay off CC, haha, but I can’t help it.

hey suitcases did u get into Bowdoin?
Yes I know some schools do mail and email on the same day and some do not. This is kinda confusing xD
where are u from hehe [ a lil off topic though =) ]

yeah, I did. :)

I’m actually from the US, but I’m living in Europe right now, so I’m not an international applicant…just getting notified like one. Although Swarthmore sent my decision to my house in the states. (and no, I didn’t get in there. ;))

How about you? (:

when do the offices close? :)

suitcases, Im actually from Asia, but yes Im living in Europe right now too haha
Congrats on ur Bowdoin acceptance. Are u going? =)

oh wow, go figure! If you were in Asia it’d be a biiit late for you to still be up waiting for this email, haha. I think I’m about to give up till tomorrow, though.

and thanks! Since I got the acceptance by email, I still don’t have my financial aid package, so I have no idea if it’s going to be doable for me. Based on the other offers I’ve had and what I’ve heard about Bowdoin’s fin. aid I’m a bit pessimistic, but we’ll see. Gotta wait for the package to make its way to this side of the pond. I guess it’ll be the same with Oberlin, iiiif I get in.

Kulix13: according to the website, the office is normally open until 5…half an hour. I don’t know if that means anything though, haha. I mean, in her post, Elizabeth Houston didn’t say we’d be emailed today, necessarily.

as my dad so wisely emailed me, time to take a chill pill. ;)

i received the email and no it is not that late at my place. Im an Asian living in Europe, just like u American living in Europe xD

Yeah, that’s what I was trying to say, haha.

Did you get in?
I haven’t gotten an email, although I did get one from Wesleyan which had the word “College” in the title and was like “OMG-wait different college.” ;D

Yes-plainsman–just watched that Oxy lad give a speech tonight! But can anyone tell me more about Occidental? I’m East Coast and just don’t know that much about the school…

oh dear, I’m panicking. I haven’t received an email from them yet D:

Accepted through email! I’m from Asia :D

The FA package was also attached in the email. Not bad, but other schools offered better packages so I might not go.

International, was waitlisted idk my feelings on this.

Have all international students (or Americans living abroad) received E-mails? I haven’t gotten one yet :S

Me neither, intl’ student hasn’t got e-mail yet :D
