Waiting Game -____-

Congrats, rwyzan! :)

nothing in the mail on either continent or the internet, haha. patience is a virtue! it looks like Oberlin may end up being the last college I hear from.

waitlisted! Kinda sucks, but since they’re under-enrolling this year, I can’t say it was a surprise! Guess I’ll just have to improve my chances as best I can.

what do you mean by they are under-enrolling??

Waitlisted from NY…

Elizabeth said it in an earlier post on here: for the past couple of years, they’ve over-enrolled, so they got more kids wishing to come to Oberlin than they’d expected. This year, they plan to admit fewer students in order to fill the class using the wait list.

That’s what I came to understand from the post, anyway.

Accepted! I’m so excited!

I don’t know if the link will post correctly (if not, the comment was on page 6 of this thread) but here it is:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/oberlin-college/1099897-waiting-game-____-6.html#post12279196</a></p>

I was rejected, although, my letter did say that they think I would be successful at Oberlin and that I would be able to apply for next year as a transfer after a solid year of college coursework.

Did anyone else get this message?

Accepted in DC with an 18K/yr John Frederick Oberlin Scholarship. I’m super happy, but I think I’m going to Pomona…we’ll see.

Accepted! With a 25k/yr John Frederick Oberlin Scholarship! Now to choose between all of my colleges. @_@

accepted! 10000 merit scholarship :)

Has anyone received letters in california? Or do you know when they could get here?

@leahkarter I’m in California (Nor Cal) and no one I know has received anything. Oberlin is my last college decision so I’m hoping to go out with a bang. A good bang.

If I were to guess, I would say tomorrow or Friday. Shouldn’t take the mail people more than a week to deliver a letter across the country.

The ability to log in to PRESTO (or not) is unrelated to your admissions decision. Some people already know how to log in to PRESTO either because they’ve been working with the Financial Aid office, or because their applications were incomplete and they were instructed to check PRESTO to see what was missing.

To any of those reporting an acceptance here, first off congratulations. If you happen to be headed to the Conservatory or plan to be a Music major in the College, we would like to include you in the http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/music-major/1045522-master-list-music-school-acceptances-fall-2011-a-47.html</a> and will do so if you choose to let us know in that thread.

Still haven’t heard anything in Boston! Hopefully in today’s mail??

We are in Ohio and still haven’t heard anything. I expected to hear by yesterday at the latest since we’re so close to Oberlin! It’s the last decision we’re waiting on.
Anyone else in Ohio not heard yet?

I got the email today. I’m in.
I’m really excited…I felt like my Oberlin essay was pretty good so I was hopeful.

Anyway, it was my last decision! I’m glad to end that section of the process on a good note. Making my own decision is going to be brutal, though. Are any of you going to Oberlin for sure?

^ congratulations, suitcases. It’s very possible they saved your e-mail for last, just to mess with you. Glad to hear it was good news.

No, not for sure. But if I get in it will definitely be in the running (money will play into it). I just wish the mail would come!
