<p>My son was placed on the waiting list. They only offer this to 450 students. What are his chances for being accepted? We are so disappointed. He has already been accepted to Tulane with a $20,000 anual merit scholarship. Still waiting for four more to reply.</p>
<p>I’m not sure what UT’s policy and process if towards waitlisted students, but as a rule of thumb you should plan as if your son is going to be rejected from UT. The worst thing you can do is make no preparations and than find out your son was rejected to UT.</p>
<p>Go ahead and pay your deposit for Tulane as a backup and than if your son gets in he can go to UT, if not at least you have Tulane which is a solid school with great programs in almost every field.</p>
