<p>My understanding is you have to accept or decline to be waitlisted. Last year 3200 people were waitlisted to UVa and 1900 accepted waitlisting and 145 got in. Waitlisting is not binding but if you accept to go to another school you have to withdraw your acceptance before accepting admission to UVa.</p>
