Waiting sucks...

...especially for transfer students.

I am sure I will see many of you jumping for joy come March and April...whereas I will be sweating up until near summer. sigh.

Well, here's to all of us having a very good spring and summer.

<pat> <pat></pat></pat>

Exilo: it's a long wait; I know. Even though my decision is coming out next month, it's been nerve wrecking. When you're Chancellor of the UC system, change it.

Yes...that is when I will take over he world.

Free iPods for every incoming student, and a free coed. ;) It would be good to be king.

Actually, if I ever do get into teaching I would never want to be an administrator...too many politics.

Free iPods for every incoming student

Didn't Duke already try that out?

Yeah...what a deal. :P

$30k tuition, but here is your $200 iPod...generous. :P

Well, it is better than nothing.

Going off topic, I finally making the switch to Macs.

Nice...I have been on both for years...I prefer my Mac. I work much more efficiently on a Mac.

Great thing is that all my universities I've applied to has something with Apple and I can get a discount on the powerbook.

New Powerbooks just came out too. ;)

I wouldn't be too concerned with what your university uses if it doesn't have something to do with your major.

I meant that Apple gives discounts to students attending the universities I've applied to.

That is, I save $200 on my 15-inch powerbook if I get accepted/go to any of my universities.

i believe UCLA, CSULB, and some other schools have a deal where if you buy a powerbook, you can get an ipod for free. i think i saw this ad earlier in the year, and my friend at CSULB actually did it and got it.

I think they give educational discounts to any higher education student, eiffelguy :) Most computer companies do.

I'm a diehard PC user, but I've been considering getting a powerbook for my laptop - they're just so damn gorgeous. I'm waiting for the G5 to come out. There will be massive discounts on the G4s. And I may just spend the extra for the G5, who knows...

but on the topic of the thread haha, I hope all of you get in! A little over a month left.

Yeah, any student gets a 10% discount from Apple on their products once a year.

Ohhh....then how come they have you select your university on the website?

It's just a way of verifying you actually belong to a school. Yeah, it's not the most fool-proof of systems. ;)

And here I was, thinking that I chose my universities correctly because they had a deal with Apple and other companies.

heh, no such luck - actually, I've heard that Apple's verification process is much more pathetic than other companies.

It is. It basically says that you agree you've been accepted or attend. Of course, no need to proove it. However, to access Stanford's Apple page at Apple, you need your Stanford ID number.

Yeah, I just bought a dell through their education site, and it asked for my school ID, which they then had to verify with UCLA before approving the purchase. Really didn't take long.

Icarus,

That just hurts man. A fellow philosophy major and a fellow pre-med to boot..and you get...a...Dell?! The shame!!!

Just kidding man. I have bought three of them in the past. they are great. But in order to save some space and money I am selling my desktop PC and keeping my Mac.
