Wait listed at Emerson! I know it’s still a long shot but it really buoyed my daughter up! First positive in this whole process :)

I know a waitlist can still mean nowhere to go in the fall, but I do hope your D understands that it 100% means that a school wants her. Yeah, there’s a little bit of “well, then why not accept me?” but fundamentally she is “accepted.” And lots of schools go to waitlists, we’ve seen. But I do hope she gets some good solid yesses very soon.

Glassharmonica I feel doubly bad for you!!! One of my friends went through the same as you and is now after the fact still a sane and functioning adult. So there is hope. I will also make sure my remaining children have no clue what MT is!!!

Being wait listed as a good thing. Firstly, not everyone offered a spot goes and where do they go… To the wait list. Secondly, it is validation. If they take 20 and you’re wait listed, you had to be pretty damn good. Of course you want in…but she has a good chance. I think it’s good news! So congrats!

^^ sorry NYmom, I got a chuckle reading your handle a little too quickly today, must be the martinis with the mailman ;)

Haha!

I think you need to cut back to only a few.

@ClaresMom…Kudos on the waitlist at Emerson! When we visited BU in January, we stayed in the Emerson neighborhood which was very cool! Keeping fingers crossed!

Still haven’t heard from Illinois, have you?

The mail came today at 6pm… and we actually got some news!
S was accepted into the BFA Acting Program at East Carolina University!!! Yeah!!
We were very impressed with thier program when we visited. They have a beautiful theatre and thier production of The Drowsey Chaperone was excellent. The in-state tuition is pretty nice too. 5 More to go!

^Congratulations to your son, cjenny!!

Awesome, Cjenny2!

Nice, cjenny2! My S got his rejection email from Rutgers Mason Gross today. Five to go.

Thanks everyone!
acting720 sorry to hear about Rutgers… I hope some good news to comes your way soon!

Thanks! He still has MMC and he really likes it, so I feel good, generally. And as his voice teacher said, “It only takes one school! You can only go to one school.”

So true. MMC is still high on our list too.

Wow the results are flying in now! No skewlcounselor, we still haven’t heard from Illinois! Should hear by Friday though.

Happy for cjenny and sad for acting720…so many mixed emotions at one time!

Got the expected “no” from Rutgers today. At least things are FINALLY moving along!

Went ahead and booked flights to Temple in Philly for next week. D is accepted into their BA Theatre/Acting Concentration and is auditioning for BFA Dance. (Yes, she is considering a double major and the school is very supportive!) Although the BA is non-audition, they have a huge menu of legit acting classes (4 years of acting, voice, movement) and students must audition to get into the 200-level classes and above. She can audition at the end of freshman year for the Musical Theatre concentration and it’s a train ride to her fav place: NYC. Lots of good things to consider and a nice diversion while she awaits the rest of her audition results!

Wow! Lots of movement today, it seems. Congrats to cjenny and sympathies to skewlcounselor and acting720. ClaresMom, hang in there with the waitlist. A friend of my daughter’s didn’t get off the waitlist at her school until JULY!!

We are STILL waiting on PPU. I’m beginning to get very discouraged. :(

Wow July - just shoot me now!

Yeah, I heard about another school that called kids who were not accepted in AUGUST to offer them spots…that is just insane. And I would think that is just one of the urban stories but the person who told me knows the kids.
