waiting with desperation and anger

due to the crazy acceptance of EA by the crazy AOs, there is a rumor that Umich will not accept any more students who are waiting now.
That's not my point.

I am just wondering why they do not deny me ASAP, if there is no seat? it does not make sense that they waste so many applicants' time just to give them a brief news that they are rejected in the mid April. It is not the tradition of U.S colleges. We are now supposed to order our dorms. But we can't, because we are waiting the the notification of Umich, a GOOD university.

who knows dude. I’ve been wondering the same thing…

Source please?

Btw, I know of a number of students admitted after Dec 24. And there are two posters who just found out they were admitted yesterday.

Indeed, I know they have made a few decisions of RD including OFFER and REJ. The problem is that it is just a small part.

I know the large acceptance of EA by previous threads. And I said it is a rumor

Could you be more specific? How many were admitted EA this year?

I’m worried too, that they’ve exhausted their acceptance letters, if that makes sense. =(

now I am more angry. I am in the waitlist seconds ago, which means more time being wasted. Even it wastes my Deposit of Enrollment to USC, if finally I get in Umich.

Yeah rejection! woooohoooo! not lol at least you still have somewhat of a chance

@ChongShu: Is Michigan still your top choice?

OK so I wait like 4 months for the LATEST decision out ofall my colleges and open up to see a wait list. What even made it worse was that in the “Waitlist FAQ” it says that Umich will notify me by LATE JUNE.

LATE JUNE!?!? ARE YOU SERIOUS?!? WHAT THE HECK?

Yeah because totally I don’t have any other colleges that require a decision by May 1, not at all, I can totally wait until mid summer for an answer that I don’t know even is going to be rejection or acceptance at all.

Umich was my TOP choice, and I’m going to devastated if I don’t get accepted. However, the problem I have to worry about now is what am I supposed to do? I need to give other schools a decision by May 1. What would happen if didn’t enroll anywhere and waited till the summer and got a rejection in the end? Yeah, bet they didn’t think about that.

^ That would be stupid. It’s common sense to deposit to another school, and if you get accepted you’re allowed to withdraw your deposit from the other school and attend Michigan.

But I’m as frustrated as you are. It was a pain waiting these months only to find out that I must continue to wait.

Ok, guys. I have the answer. Take a deeeep breath. Breath in, breath out. Wax on, wax off…Well, I work at the UMich Admissions department, and because the printer’s are in need of repair and our lack of funds for the necessary repairs, we have decided to reject everyone who has not heard from us.

Our official Statement:

I am very sorry to inform you that we are not able to offer you a place in this year’s class. Every year University of Michigan receives a large number of applications from highly qualified students. The Admissions Committee gives careful consideration to every admission request, and this decision was reached only after a thorough review of your application.

I understand that this may come as a disappointment, but I hope that it is tempered by good news from other schools to which you have applied.

Thank you again for your interest in the University of Michigan and please accept my best wishes for a successful college experience.

Sincerely,

Beebop-2
Primary Printer of Undergraduate Admissions

but really, if you’re on the waitlist for UMich and haven’t received a notification and are still interested in attending if accepted, then pay the tuition deposit at this university and some other university (that you’d attend if you were rejected at UMich from the Waitlist)…yeah, that’s the thing about waitlists, that you lose at least one tuition deposit…you always play it safe by paying at least 2 tuition deposits (at UMich and some other back-up university you’d attend if rejected from the UMich Waiting list)

Yea, I got accepted off the waiting list in June I think. I immediately withdrew my acceptance to the other college that I was accepted to. If you want to go here, then wait, but if you feel it is a waste of time then go somewhere else.

Shouldn’t you be paying deposit to only one school?

Be forewarned, my friend got waitlisted two years ago and so far as he knows never got taken off. He never heard from umich again. This late in the game, don’t screw yourself waiting.
