Out of state, but would be 4th generation to attend UM
Attended Interlochen Arts Camp 6 years
Main EC: Piano, Competitive Chess Player (since grade 3), LAX Varsity Letterman (3 years), Volunteer on overseas medical missions for 4 years
Honors: NHS, Chosen for Economics For Leaders (UT,Ausin), HOBY Leasership, AP Diploma With Distinction
ACT: Composite 32 (Best M 35, Sci 35, reading, 34, Eng- 33)
GPA: Unweighted 3.8, Weighted 4.25
Will graduate with 9 AP classes, HS is public, but ranked #1 in our state.

It has gotten harder each generation. Twenty years ago he’d get in easily. Hopefully he’s not under too much pressure, either to get in or to attend just because it’s what others want. Hopefully he’ll enjoy the rest of senior year

Now…i think he has a solid chance due to wide variety of ECs, some which look quite impressive.

You likely need a rather long wait for the final outcome. Around 85% EA applicants got deferred last year. Good luck to your son.
