Yup ( I can only contribute $10,000.
But they were aware of my need and didn’t reject me right?
- they pulled one girl from my country from the wait list last year and accepted her Spring.

I already feel that MoHo is MoHome. :(

I don’t know of anyone who was accepted from the UK, waitlist or otherwise dunno if that’s a good or bad thing. I’m able to contribute even less than you, but again…they didn’t reject me outright so that’s something…isn’t it? So anxious about it all

@MattieR91

UK is huge. But I mean not many from there apply to US and especially to all girls liberal schools right?

I live in Georgia. It’s so tiny we have only two American schools here and two counseling offices so everybody knows everything :)

If they didn’t accept many from UK, it’s a good thing. They are looking for cultural diversity and they might accept someone from like Chad or Mali just because they come from less popular countries and bring some multifariousness.

I’m so anxious about it all too. Moho is like my dream school. I’ve been dreaming for two and a half years now. When I got an email that admission decisions were out I was like WHOA and then logging into my ISIS I was like 99% sure that it was rejection and when I couldn’t see any sign of congratulations written I sighed and continued reading and my heart literally bumped hearing about wait list.

Whatsoever, I will undoubtedly re apply next year in case I don’t get in this year.

Wait list seems neutral. It’s more like acceptance than rejection. Cause they are telling you, we like you, you are our type we just have so many those types in the class of 2017 and if someone withdraws, that makes room for you.

Good luck, girl. Hope we both get in. Fingers crossed for the both of us.

Thanks good luck to you too! Not long to wait now

Hi everyone! So I am also on the waitlist which is quite disappointing, as MHC is my number one school. I know that patience is a virtue but I am dying to find out!!! I can’t wait much longer! I have sent several emails and talked to quite a few people in the admissions department (not in an overbearing stalker way, mind you.) I tried giving Darcy Thoma a call yesterday and on her voicemail there was a specific line for students calling to find out about the waitlist, so I left a message. Has anyone done the same thing and gotten intouch with Darcy or heard anything? Please let me know!! :)

But i’m still grateful i was even waitlisted and not flat out rejected so thank you mount holyoke!! <3

@Cassijordan16 I feel the same way, I am so grateful to be on the waitlist but I just want good news at the end of the wait haha 3 days til May 1st, eek

@MattieR91 Me too…we have been waiting for such a while, I just really need some good news from them at this point. If I am not accepted I will end up going to Hampshire College and will still be able to take classes at MHC, but it won’t be the same!! I just want to be at my MoHome! I really hope we find out before May 1st…

@mtholyoke2010 Thank you for your message…sorry I had to respond in a post, I am new to College Confidential and was not able to reply to your email, but I know that you read my post. Thank you for the advice, it’s definitely something to think about. However I have been to that school many times and although it may not be the most asthetically pleasing school, I love the academics and really everything that it stands for as a whole. Mount Holyoke of course is my number one school and I guarantee that I will attend if accepted. The other school is a great number 2 for me, however. But I absolutely see your point, perhaps that is why it is only my number 2! Thanks again for the advice!

@Cassijordan16, don’t you HATE not being able to PM at first haha you might get a faster/slightly more private response if you leave mtholyoke2010 a visitor message, should be a link on their profile it’s slightly more personal, and will send a notification. As for your prev post, I hope we find out before May 1st but as that’s Wednesday I’m not sure we will, they might be waiting for the deadline to be certain about what space they have, and it might take some time to process enrolments made close to/on the deadline. So it could be a week or more to wait after May 1st =/

@MattieR91 Yes it’s a bit odd! Okay I’ll definitely try that in the future, thanks! And you’re probably right about not finding out before May 1st…maybe it’s just wishful thinking that MHC will tell us so we won’t have to put down the nonrefundable deposit on another school…but my fingers are still crossed!

Am I the only one who had been checking Isis about 4838738 times a day?

no haha =P they also recommend you put down your deposit somewhere else so you’re not left without a place should the worst happen, but it’s butts because the deposits are so much money

Exactly…so I’ll end up putting my money on Hampshire. IT’S SO MUCH MONEY.

How about you?

I haven’t been accepted anywhere else. So everything rests on MoHo at the moment :/

4 days? Decisions will be out in 4 days?
But it’s the national deposit deadline, I mean… they start reviewing wait lists after that date don’t they?
I’m on crack

@Cassijordan16

I’d die for Hampshire. I got in but I’m international so I should pay room & board which I can’t. If I could go, I’d take two classes at Moho which would increase chances of getting in transfer.
Hampshire is a GREAT school. And lots of my weird/vegan friends go there and they love it :D

@MattieR9 Wow that’s a lot of pressure! What made you decide to put all of your eggs in one basket? And what will you do if you don’t get in?

@Bluecholeric That’s great that you got into Hampshire, congrats! I’m sorry that you’re having difficulties affording it. It’s so unfortunate when money deters people from being able to go to the schools that they want. Well I will keep my fingers crossed for you that you get into MHC! Hopefully then you’ll be able to take classes at Hampshire as well! (Which I also plan to do )

Haha they were in various baskets but those baskets rejected me. If I don’t get in imma do it all again next year. I just love pain, rejection and failure apparently haha

Oh yeah pain and rejection are literally the best! I think everyone in the world right now who is our age is so used to pain and rejection right now.

I’m sorry that you got so many rejections! Schools are absolutely impossible to predict. Where else did you apply?
