I applied ED round 1 and got deffered, waitlisted for regular decision. Any current or former students have any tips for getting off the waitlist? Richmond has been my dream school since I was 7, I was devastated to get deffered and waitlisted. I have contacted my regional consuoler regarding my HIGH interest and commitment to the school. Any other tips??
ALSO-any ideas on a timeline of when decisions will come out? The letter was vague
Call them and email them. Let them know you are still very interested. They will undoubtedly be admitting some people from the waitlist in the next few weeks as some students inform them that they have accepted spots at other schools. Contacting them and expressing your sincere wish to be admitted from the waitlist can only help. Good luck!
I agree. It’s a wonderful idea to call the. The fact that UR is your first choice is a big plus. Remind them that you applied ED and want to go there. Best of luck!
Hi i was wondering if anyone knew how (whether positive or negative) the notifications were deliver. By mail? Phone call? Do you only hear back if you were accepted?
I found out that I was accepted off the waitlist yesterday. I emailed my admissions counselor about sending my third marking period grades, and reiterated that Richmond was my top choice. I think they looked at my application and realized they had room for me. They are mailing the acceptance letter tomorrow I believe.
If I was taken off the wait list would I have gotten an email? Slash if I am not will I get some sort of notification that I will not be?
Slash did they mention to what extent they will be using the list?
I sent an email right after I got my WL letter saying it was my first choice and all of my recent accomplishments and i said my third check period grades. Would it be worth sending another email to my rep saying hi I know its may first I just wanted to let you know I’m still interested or should I just wait
Any news people?!
Not for me…
Did you get an email or a phone call to say you were off the list??
Does Richmond provide updates to students on the waitlist? Does anyone know how many students accepted a spot on the waitlist?
They give an update @ the end of June- they will have Made most final decisions by then. If this year is similar to last year then a just 1500 accepted a spot. I’m not sure how similar the #s are this year from last year
If you look at this page, ( http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-richmond/1767555-waitlist-2019.html#latest ) it appears that housing application needed to be completed by 05/17. On a side note, I think way back in the end of April - beginning of May, is when I picked up my son after completing his first year at Richmond and we met a delightful young lady who so excited that she had been selected off the waitlist and had just the weekend to decide. Remember, that was 3 weeks ago. Unfortunately, it appears as if all who were going to be selected from the list have been.
People have been selected from the list in late June before
Has anyone heard anything about the status of the waitlist? I am surprised UR hasn’t posted anything on twitter.
I just got a call and an email from admissions asking me to consider Richmond. The email said they have 10 spots left.
***FYI, all waitlist decision (pos or neg) are communicated through the use of email and voice call,no snail mail as used in regular decision!
ALSO for 2016 waitlist- call the A.O. to relay interest! DO NOT rely on email! ALSO- if you have no intentions of attending- do not accept the spot on the waitlist!!!
