Waitlist accepted

Hey, I don’t know if ppl are still waiting, but I just found out that I was accepted but declined. And one of my friends got off the list a few weeks ago, so they’ve definately started making the rounds. Good luck to all those still waiting!!!

how’d you find out? online or by mail? can you share any other info?

I would like some info as well
Did you write them a letter of interest or anything?
and how’d your friend’s fin aid packet turn out?

My friend that got off the waitlist, I wanna say 2 weeks ago, got a letter in the mail. Last night they called me and asked if I was still interested in going to BC. I think they might me calling now so they have an immediate answer. Hope that helped!

My friend said he only got like 5 grand. He’s not going.
And I didn’t protest or show any extra interest except for puting my name on the waiting list.

I really hope this is not true.

Didn’t thye say NO decisions about the waitlist would come before May 1st PERIOD, i don’t see why they would change it now, i have a hard time believing this poster.

yup! They clearly wrote that the decisions will be released in June/July. The committee will meet again to decide which applicants to choose because BC has not list. The committee decides all over again!

Ok, are you serious? You can believe me or not, but I was just trying to be helpful. For a while BC was my number one choice and then I got waitlisted and was really upset about it. So I wouldn’t go on some site and just mess with people like that. Yes, I know that they said they wouldn’t contact us til after may. I did read that letter, and that is why I decided to commit somewhere else. But I’m not lying. I was shocked when my friend got his letter saying he was accepted and I was stunned when I got the phone call FROM THE SCHOOL the other day. Also, why would I waste my time answering questions? Just because what I’m saying isn’t what you want to hear doesn’t mean you should demean my credibility. Anyway, for those that choose to believe me, good luck!! And I think they started contacting people earlier cause there are a lot of people that have said no to this school. They do need to make sure they fill their class.

JIS1, where did you hear they will release decisions in June/July? Won’t some decisions come in May?

I think on the waitlist letter they said that they will start accepting people beginning mid-may…

“Under no circumstances will Boston College activate its waiting list prior to the candidates reply date of May 1. Keep in mind that over “50%” of admitted students who confirm their enrollment to Boston College do so after April 25.”

[The Waiting List - Boston College](http://www.bc.edu/admission/undergrad/process/tips/s-waitinglist.html)

HI:

To be clear, I am not a BC board member. But (full disclosure) I am on the BC 2013 wait list and have 2 connections to directors (got to them as I try to find a way off wait list). As of last Thursday THEY BOTH said that BC will not activate it’s wait list until this coming week (May 4).

I don’t want to get in a cyber slapdown with the people posting that they heard from BC re: wait list last week. They flat out did not. With the exception (i was told) of athletes. Yes, again, apparently if BC had displayed interest in you for a sport, that could be an exception to getting off the wait list before week of May 4.

Colleges (BC included) did not know their numbers until Friday.

So, I’m going to have to assume that there was more to the info of the poster who said he/she got in off the wait list last week and so did their friend. Or that it’s not the truth. For validity, give us the name of your regions contact at BC. We all know ours. Sorry.

Brittany 2009- Sorry, I got it wrong. It is between May 1st to July 1st. However, the fact is that they would not have released results before because as written in the letter, the committee meets again to decide who gets in. There is no priority list. This means that BC will first have to know how many students they need off the waitlist and then decide which ones to select by re-evaluating the applications.

My S got an email today saying thank you for sending his email regarding his continued interest in being on the wait list, but that was it.

I only know what I have already told you, and am not an athlete.

dang, you got an email?
i didnt, looks like i wont be getting in for the third time (EA, regular, now off the waitlist)

anyone else get this email?

Don’t worry. You still might be in. This email only told my S that they got his email. It didn’t say he was in.

is this what he got?

dear, XXXX

Thank you for submitting your Boston College Waitlist Response form.

Sincerely,
The Boston College Office of Undergraduate Admission

i got this back in march
