@bunsen03 I applied for the same major as well and also got wait listed. I thought sending an appeal to try and get off the waitlist isn’t allowed? Everyone on the irvine class of 2020 facebook page told me that appealing off the wait list is not something you do lol Do you remember when you figured out you were wait listed?
@Ellenparkk I was actually advised by UC Irvine students and Admissions that there is no wrong in appealing a waitlist decision. As a matter of fact, I think that appealing a waitlist decision demonstrates that the applicant really wants to get in compared to the students who just waitlist and wait for the decision. (which is not wrong either) Just my personal opinion.
I also applied for Business Administration and was waitlisted. (Alt: Business Econ)
Best of luck to you @bunsen03, you have incredible statistics. Hopefully you had new and compelling information stated in your appeal.
@e92hoang Thanks! I applied for the same alternate major as well. I figured that appealing the wait list decision would boost my chances if anything. It explicitly says that you can appeal a wait list decision, so I don’t think there is anything wrong with it. Good luck to you as well and hopefully you get in!
