Waitlist Biznus

Does anyone know how many people Davidson put on the waiting list this year/ how many applicants decided to stay on it? Has anyone already heard back from the college and been offered a spot?

I don’t know the exact numbers, but I can tell you that if it’s anything like last year, you have a tremendously good chance of getting in off the wait-list, especially if you express lots of interest to the admissions office.

Good luck! Last year about fifty got in off the wait-list…which is most of the list, probably!

Also, keep in mind, some people stay in the wait-list category at multiple schools. Someone might get wait-listed at Harvard, Princeton, and Davidson…so when Harvard and Davidson both admit that person, where do they go? Tough competition, for sure.

Just keep your fingers crossed and hope for the best! The wait is almost over!

Yes, my daughter was accepted at Davidson.

She was offered a spot from the waitling list?

Offers of admission to students on the waitlist don’t usually get made at schools until after the May 1 RD response deadline, when schools know whether they will have room for people on the waitlist–that is why it is important to accept an offer from a school that has accepted you before that deadline, thus creating a sort of domino effect. Based on posts on other threads, I believe ssmsmm was referring to an RD acceptance.
