I dont get why the waitlist cap for the Spanish classes is 100 when the enrollment cap is only 25. Can someone explain to me please?

Unlike in some departments, no one on the Spanish waitlists gets PTE numbers so it doesn’t matter how long the list is.

It just seems so unrealistic to have a waitlist cap 4 times larger than the encap. What chances do people have to actually get in?

The spanish dept. has special rules that apply.

For example, many times they must admit graduating seniors because they need the class to fulfill the requirement, no matter where they are on the waitlist.

Is Spanish a popular major? Or are people just taking it for the language skill classes?

^There’s a foreign language requirement to graduation and most students had previous high school experience with Spanish.

Thanks for the response.
