Hey, I have been waitlisted at Weinberg this year and have actively tried to get off the waitlist. I really like the current school that I have sent my deposit for (UM-Ann Arbor), but I want to keep my options open, and I wonder if anyone knows what are the chances for Northwestern to take off more kids on the Weinberg list. I want to double major in econ and business. Here are my stats and what I have I done to be taken off the wait list:
3.8 or 3.9 UW GPA
top 15% of class, don't know class rank, hardest courseload,
2240 SATS (770 CR, 740 M, 730 W (perfect essay))
SAT IIs: U.S. Hist. 780, Math 2C 720
National Honor Society Prez, Quiz Team Capt., National Merit Commended, AP Scholar, Mock Trial, Junior Achievement officer, got an internship at Smith Barney
I wrote one letter, and sent 2 e-mails to their office. My guidance counselor called them and wrote a letter. I got a letter from my AP Gov. teacher who loves me, and my Mock Trial attorney who advised our team that made it to states. I also got a letter from my friend's mom who is going to be the President of Midwestern Alumni next year and is a multiple legacy (9 people in her family have gone their). She was pretty confident that her letter would have a lot of weight. I also got another letter from an alum who is a family friend. I wonder if anyone knows if Northwestern is going to take a lot of people off the waitlist for Weinberg and what are my chances. Do you think I should call the office too, or is that overkill? Thank you all.

Haha, I think you did everything possible to get off the waitlist..If I was an admissions officer, I'd take you in! You seem to have a very good chance. I have very similar stats and I was waitlisted and I just got off the waitlist...I'm in McCormick though. Good luck!

damn man... you've been working

I just sent a letter and my 3rd quarter grades

needless to say I hope you get in...just not at my expense lol

If they do have a spot you'll probably be one of the first people to get off the waitlist

You have been working hard to get off the waitlist, but I think that 5 letters of reccomendation was overdoing it just a bit.

And I don't think there's anything else you can do. Just sit back, relax, and hope for the best. I wish you luck.

Thanks, I just hope Weinberg is taking multiple people off the waitlist, and I hope my fellow cc members are successful
