My daughter was accepted early at SDSU for “academic excellence” and offered Honors College, U of O with largest out of state scholarship award ($36k over 4 years) with honors college and in at CP, SLO. Rejected by UCLA (not shocked) and waitlisted at UCSB (her first choice). She is leaning towards CP but wants to also hold out for UCSB. Anyone have thoughts on her chances at SB via waitlist status (Sociology major)?
Each school is required by federal govt to file a common data set, with undergrad wait list one of the items reported:
UCSB, 2015
5009 students offered wait list
2910 students accepted wait list offer
278 students admitted from wait list
It is not broken out by school or major.
No harm in going on the wait list, but she should deposit at (and love) one of her accepted schools.
